In the first 2 weeks in November, we went to 4 birthday parties! Addison had a great time at each one but mommy and daddy were a bit exhausted after all that partying :) The first weekend, we started out with Addison's sweet friends Avery's and Hayden's princess party. What a surprise when the real Sleeping Beauty showed up to the party! Addy is still talking about it! She read them a story, played games, painted faces and sang a song. The girls were in heaven! After the princess party, we drove up to Aliso Viejo to cousin Tyler's birthday party. It was at Scooter's Jungle, one of those big jumpy places. Wild, but fun!

Birthday parties galore!
Halloween
Since Halloween was on a Monday this year, we decided to play it low-key and just trick-or-treat around our neighborhood. We had gone to my school Halloween Carnival and our church Fall Festival the week before, so we definitely had our fill of Halloween fun! Addison changed her mind of what she wanted to be for Halloween about 100 times, so I didn't buy her a costume and instead let her pick whatever she wanted to wear from all her dress-up clothes that she has. After 3 costume changes on Halloween night, she finally settled on a Princess dress she got for her birthday. We had a great time!

Addison's Princess Party
From just about the minute her 2nd birthday party was over, Addison has wanted a princess party. Well, she got one for her 3rd birthday! We had it at our house, which was a lot easier than having it at the park. We had 2 special guests at the party-Aunt Kristin and Grandma came from Texas and it was so much fun (and such a help!) to have them here! It was a very fun day!
Happy 3rd Birthday, Addison!
Addison,
How is it that you are 3 already? You are such a sweet, sweet girl. We love listening to you singing and playing by yourself in your bed (when you're supposed to be sleeping) or in the backseat of the car. You have quite the imagination! You are still obsessed with princesses and that is pretty much all we play. You still love doing art projects, and a lot of the time, you like to create your own instead of do the ones that mommy comes up with! You are starting to like to help mommy cook and run and get your step stool from the bathroom when you see me in the kitchen.
You love to dance and we have "dance parties" just about every day. You like fast songs and slow/ballet songs. Your 2 current favorites are: "Party Rock Anthem" and "Somewhere Out There."
You love to read and will sit forever reading books by yourself or with us. You are starting to become interested in letters and will ask "What letter does this word have?"
You are quite the picky eater. It reminds me of myself when I was a kid. We are constantly bargaining how many bites you have to take. Favorite foods include: pears, bananas, blueberries, corn, sometimes chicken and all sweets. You definitely have your daddy's sweet tooth!
You are quite the talker-we love having conversations with you just like you are a little person. You definitely have your own opinions about things and often correct mommy or daddy or direct us EXACTLY how to play with you!
We love you so much Addison and are so blessed that you are our daughter! You make us smile and laugh constantly! Happy 3rd Birthday!
Love,
Mommy and Daddy
September
September brought a random couple of days. On the way to pick up Addison after work on a Thursday, the radio went all staticy and the street lights started blinking. I thought it might just be a problem around where I work, but it turned out that there was a power outage in all of San Diego. It took us a long time to get home with tons of traffic and the street lights all being out. Then we had to wait over an hour for Chris to get home because my garage door opener didn't work. We had a fun night playing in the backyard, grilling, and using our flashlights! Note to self: need to have unscented candles available for emergencies as the combination of all the scented candles was enough to make us sick! School got cancelled for the next day (even though power went back on around 4 a.m.) With an unexpected Friday off, we planned a fun trip to Disneyland. Disneyland really is the happiest place and earth and it is so much fun to go with kids and see their eyes widen at eveything. The princesses were once again the highlight and worth the wait! We are lucky to only live an hour and a half away!
