Taste of Texas

Playing in her tent/bed where she slept at Aunt Kristin's

Riding the train at Zilker Park-definitely a highlight

At the Children's Museum in Waco with (2nd) cousin Caleb

Queens for the day!

Looking at the sights with Cousin Jeff

Addison still talks about Jonathan, Caleb and the dragon!

This might have been her favorite part of the trip-my mom's dog, Maggie. Addison is definitely a girl after my own heart and loves dogs!

Unfortunately, the only picture I took of Addison and Aunt Shannon. She was not happy to take this picture! (But Shannon and her friend Alex look cute!)

Swimming with Grandpa

Playing cars with G-Ma
at Aunt Gail's house

Grandma had a "fish week" planned that included Addison's first fishing trip! She lasted 15 minutes but we caught 2 fish

We caught one!

Doing a fish activity

Hugs for Aunt Kathy

Loving on Aunt Beth and G-G

She still says "Uncle Spencer get you!"

My friend Michelle hosted a fun pool party with lots of friends!

Addison's future boyfriend Drew?

Or maybe Charlie?

Sic 'Em Baylor Bears!

Road trip with Karen back to Austin with a quick stop in Waco!

Addison and I spent a wonderful 8 days in Texas visiting family and friends. It was a whirlwind trip with stops in Austin, Waco and Dallas. She did great on the plane and had such a great time visiting with family and friends. I was so proud of her for how well she adjusted and went with the flow all the time because we were definitely busy! We had a wonderful time and she talks everday about something or someone from our trip. There was one important piece missing from our trip though-daddy! We were so glad to get back to San Diego and see him on Thursday! We miss everyone in Texas a lot-thanks for a wonderful time!

Fair Day

Really wanting to get in and pet the sheep

Finally getting to pet a goat!

The crazy rides!

By herself like a big girl

Loving her stick horse!

Digging in the corn

Time for dinner!

Watching the dog show

We celebrated Father's Day a week early this year because Addison and I were going to be in Texas. We decided to spend the day at the fair. I love the fair and Chris has come around to it as well! Addison had a blast! There was so much to look at, she loved all the animals and kept saying "ride it" and "pet it" when we were looking at the cows, sheep, pigs and goats. They also had a really cool kids zone this year where the kids could ride stick horses, "plant" things, dig in corn, and a lot of other activities that she loved. We were adventerous this year and rode 4 rides. Addison even rode one by herself-such a big girl! Her favorite part of the day was when we stumbled upon a stage where a dance studio was performing. Addison ran up right to the front of the stage and started dancing along with the girls for about 10 routines. It was so precious and I can't wait until she's up there performing! We had a great time!

Ladybug treats

This past month, we learned about bugs. There were so many fun things to do about bugs that we split it up and did a week about caterpillars, a week about butterflies, a week about ladybugs, a week about spiders and are now onto bees and ants. We had a lot of fun. I got a lot of good ideas from these 2 amazing websites: http://www.notimeforflashcards.com/ and http://jennwa.blogspot.com/. We also found some cute songs on youtube about each bug as well as reading books about each one. It has been fun! Addison really loves to do art and every night she asks to "paint," so it's been fun working with my budding artist!

20 Months

How can it be that in 4 short months, Addison will be 2? I keep telling her to slow down and stop growing! I am now officially on summer vacation and can't wait to spend 5 weeks with her! Here is a little taste of her dancing-she's been dancing up a storm lately to any kind of music (this musical choice was Chris' cell phone ring tone!). Maybe she'll be on "So You Think You Can Dance?" :) I love the arm movements!

Memorial Day Weekend

I love these two!
Fun day at the beach!

Eating a cupcake at a yummy bakery

At the San Diego Botanical Garden on our mommy/daughter date

Getting ready to go!

We had a fun Memorial Day weekend filled with a mommy/daughter date on Friday, a daddy/daughter date on Saturday, a trip to the beach and a trip to a fun new park. It was a blast! 4 more days until I'm finished with school and I can't wait to have some time with Addison!
On another note, she's been making up these funny verbs lately that just make me smile. She says that doggies are "woofing," this morning when she was running around the kitchen and I asked her what she was doing, she said "fasting" (I assume that means running fast?) and my favorite: yesterday she came running out of her room with a hat on and said, "Mommy, hatting!" I just love these little Addison-isms! It's very fun, as a Speech Therapist, to see the amazing speed that she learns new vocabulary and puts words together. I'm so proud!
