A week of adventures

We had an adventurous week last week! On Monday we had to evacuate our house for termite fumigation. We stayed in a lovely little guest house in La Jolla and it was like a mini-vacation! On Thursday night we drove up after work for Matt (Chris' brother) and Millie's rehearsal dinner. It was a long day and a long drive and we didn't make it to dinner until 8:00 (after Addison's bedtime), but she did great and enjoyed running around the restaurant until almost 10:00! Friday, Addison and I hung out with Grammy (while Chris had a fun day with his brother) and enjoyed walking around her neighborhood in Long Beach. Addison sure loves her Grammy and loved all the fun toys and coloring at Grammy's house! Chris and I even got to sneak off to have a date night and see a movie-yea!
Saturday was the big wedding day and Addison did a great job as one of the flower girls! She made it down the aisle until she got to where I was sitting, which was pretty impressive! The wedding was at a beautiful house on a lot of land in Downey, California (near L.A.). Addison might have had the most fun of any guest-swinging, running around the open spaces and most of all dancing! She had a blast!
The wedding was beautiful and we're so happy to have Millie as part of our family! Congratulations Matt and Millie-we love ya'll!

19 Months

Doing an art project with daddy

What are you up to at 19 months? Well, just about everything! You continue to be a VERY busy girl who keeps mommy and daddy on their toes. You love running, climbing, and exploring everything. We are still working on you slowing down (you always have bruises covering your sweet body!), looking where you are going, and I think you hear "Be careful!" about 500 times a day! Despite all of the exploring though, you do have your quiet moments. You still love to read books both by yourself in the chair in your room and with mommy or daddy. You have also started to like to do crafts more and we paint, color or do stickers just about every afternoon. I've been getting a lot more spontaneous hugs and kisses lately and they just melt my heart! You've started saying "Love you" which is so precious! You've gotten 6 molars in the past 2 weeks and we had some sleepless nights for about a week. I feel so bad for you when you hold your cheeks and say "owie." Thankfully, they all must have broken through because you're back to your cheerful self and sleeping great. You have started to be interested in playing with your toys more and are starting to make up little play scenes with the toys. Your imagination is great and you will often be crawling on the floor pretending to be a dog or cat or putting something on your head to look like a hat. Every day we spend with you is a joy, Addison and we love your curiosity, your interest in "fixing" things (such as trying to plug my phone into the lamp plug, opening the front of the computer and pushing buttons, etc.), and your zest for life!
Happy 19 months!

Happy Mother's Day!

Being a mother is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Addison brings such joy to my life and I can't imagine life without her. It also makes me appreciate my mom even more and all that she has done for me. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!
