First Haircut

Before....Looking a little shaggy!

Getting her smock on.

"Hold you!"

Proud of our big girl!

After...

Addison had her first haircut today! She still doesn't have too much hair but her bangs were getting a little long, so we went for it. We went to a place in La Jolla called "Little Locks" and it was pretty cute-live bunnies, different themed chairs and lots of toys. Addison did fairly well. She sat semi-still in her spaceship for the 5 minutes it took. Towards the end, she kept saying "Hold you" which means "hold me." It was a fun experience!

Just so you know...

When you ride a bike, you must always carry your baby and the baby's blanket! (along with when you ride in a car, eat dinner, go to sleep, go shopping, go to the zoo, etc.)

Just like a prayer

Addison has started praying lately (well, saying "Dear God... Amen") and it is so cute to hear her little voice say those words. I pray that she will always have a heart for God.

*Disclaimer-apparently she was all done with her food as evidenced by her "NO!!" at the end :)

"Night night" with baby

Happy 15 month birthday Addison!

Addison is 15 months old today! She is at a really fun age with such a fun little personality and she's talking up a storm! Being the Speech-Language Pathologist that I am, I decided to take a language sample this morning and she said 55 spontaneous words! Way to go, Addison! Some favorites include: GET DOWN!! (said very loudly and with emphasis when she wants down from her stroller, high chair or anyone holding her), "pea" with the sign language sign for "please" when she wants anything, no (of course), again, and "fi" (see video below). It is fun to see her little brain problem solve and soak up everything. She continues to be a great eater and a great sleeper for the most part. She has 7 teeth but is drooling and has her hands in her mouth constantly, so it seems like more teeth may be on the way! She loves brushing her teeth, dancing, singing, reading books, playing with her babies, and "cooking" with her new play food and cookware. A little bittersweet for me, but she decided last week that she was done with nursing (we were doing it just before bed). I am a little sad that she is no longer my little baby, but proud that I was able to do it for 15 months working full-time, and that it was an easy transition to wean.

I have had 3 weeks off with her and we have had so much fun with Christmas, play dates and just hanging out. It will be very hard to go back to work next week. Here are some pictures and a video of what we've been up to lately.

Chris got a singing fish as a white elephant gift for Christmas. This has been, by far, Addison's favorite Christmas present of all. She is constantly asking for "fi" and once it is done, says "again" to play it again. I have to tell her that the fish is "sleeping" several times a day and put it up in our closet. She just loves the fish and loves to dance to it and sing to it. It is pretty cute, I have to admit...
